•     Second graders will have a math worksheet to complete for homework every day.  Homework will be modified to meet the needs of your child with the goal that this should only take them about 10-15 minutes to complete.  Furthermore, your child should be reading for at least 15 minutes a night, something we call “one step.”  When they read one step, they can record it in the 100 Book Challenge form and then it needs to be signed by an adult. Please note that one step is not equal to one book, but rather 15 minutes of reading.
    If your child does not complete a homework assignment they will be bringing a note home with the homework name and it will need to come back the next day signed with the homework. My expectation for homework is that students are putting their best effort into their work and trying their hardest.  If they don’t have all of the answers right that’s okay because it will show me what I need to teach more of.

    Los estudiantes en el segundo grado van a tener una página de matemáticas para tarea que tiene que completar cada día.  La tarea está modificado para que puede llegar a las necesidades de su hijo, con la meta de que solamente va a tomar entre 10-15 minutos para completar.  Además, su hijo tiene que leer por 15 minutos cada noche, algo que llamamos “un paso.”  Cuando termina de leer un paso, puede anotarlo en el formulario de 100 Horas de Lectura y después tiene que estar firmado por un adulto.  Favor de anotar que un paso no es un libro, sino 15 minutos de lectura.  

    Si su hijo no termina con la asignación va a traer una nota a casa con el nombre de la tarea que tiene que traer el próximo día firmado con la tarea. Mi expectativa para tarea es que los estudiantes están usando su mejor esfuerzo en hacer el trabajo y haciendo lo mejor que puedan.  Si no tienen todas las respuestas correctas está bien porque eso me ayuda a saber que más tengo que enseñar.
