We at Montessori “Believe in the Child” and work collaboratively with parents and all stakeholders to provide the best education for all of our children.

Unique Features:

• Accelerated/individualized lessons within our multi-age classrooms are guided by an experienced Montessori-trained and/or NYS-certified teacher. Lessons are inclusive of Montessori practices and adhere to the New York State Standards.

• Continuity for students and staff through classroom instruction of two grade levels per class, allowing students to 'roll up' with their teachers.

• Pre-K students have similar amenities to students in grades K-6, including music, art, library and physical education.

• Pre-K students receive transportation regardless of distance from home.

• Montessori classes are engaged in Social Emotional Learning (Grace and Courtesy) meetings daily. These meetings are designed to teach students how to effectively manage their emotions, behaviors and relationships with their peers.

Visitation:

• Parents are welcome to visit their child’s Montessori classroom with expressed arrangement with the classroom teacher.
• Please make sure that you’re wearing a Visitor’s Badge at all times.

Celebrations with Food:

We LOVE when students want to celebrate their birthday with their friends at school. If you want to enhance the celebration by bringing food, NO NUTS PLEASE. Also, the celebration must take place after the child’s lunchtime, not to interfere with the lunch program. Contact your child’s teacher for more information.

Early Dismissal (Before 1:30 PM):

• Pick-up from the Main Office on Congress Ave
• Students are called to the office AFTER the parent/guardian arrives.
• Students must be signed out.

Parent calls to schedule Pick-up at Dismissal (2 pm)

• All calls need to come in BEFORE 1:30 pm, or the child may be placed on the bus.
• Pick up at Exit 9 (on Post Ave)
• Students need to be signed out.
