My name is Renee Schurr, and I have been a special education teacher in the Rochester City School District for 21 years. I taught 17 years at the elementary school level and 4 years at the middle school level. This is my first year teaching at the high school level, and I am so excited! I am teaching Living Environment and Social Dynamics this year to 9th graders in the Social/Communication program, as well as Resource Room and Online Credit Recovery. I am also one of the advisors for the senior class.
I am a proud graduate of the Rochester City School District – Wilson Magnet High School Class of ’98. Go Wildcats! I also attended elementary and middle school in the RCSD at School #43 and Jefferson Middle School. I attended St. John Fisher College for my undergraduate degrees in elementary education and psychology. I then attended Roberts Wesleyan College for my master’s degrees in education and special education. I have been married for 20 years to my college sweetheart, and we have two beautiful daughters, ages 16 and 18. We also have a dog and a cat. My family loves to travel and my favorite place to go is Walt Disney World. I am a huge fan of all things Disney.
I know that I am going to have an amazing year at Rochester Early College International High School and my goal is to make sure you and your child have one too. Here’s to the start of something great! Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, etc. The best way to get ahold of me is by email because I am in many different rooms throughout the day. My email is Renee.Schurr@rcsdk12.org. Hope to hear from you!
