Project SEARCH Application Process
-
Once the application is submitted, Ms. Adanti will contact the student and their family to discuss the Project SEARCH program.
-
After determining that the student is a good candidate, Ms. Adanti will reach out to the student’s school counselor or lead teacher to schedule an interview with the prospective Project SEARCH intern.
-
Following the interview, Ms. Adanti will email the student, their school counselor, relevant staff, and the student’s family to inform them whether the student has been accepted into the program.
-
The student and family are responsible for completing all required Project SEARCH forms and scheduling an intake meeting with ACCES-VR (if necessary). All interns must also obtain a New York State ID.
-
All interns are required to complete a background check through the City of Rochester. Ms. Adanti will request the last four digits of the intern’s Social Security number and submit the necessary information to the City of Rochester Human Resources Department.
-
A CSE meeting will then be scheduled to complete a program change.
-
Once the program change is finalized, Ms. Adanti will contact the student and their family to arrange RTS travel training dates for Summer 2025.
-
RTS travel training will take place in July and August.
